In remembrance of the eight people who were murdered and one who was severely injured in three Atlanta-area shootings on Tuesday evening, state Representative Nima Kulkarni and other community organizations will be hosting a vigil at Louisville’s Waterfront Park at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 21st.
Representative Kulkarni, the only Asian-American legislator serving in the General Assembly, said she is helping host the vigil to also raise awareness of the rise in violence against Asian-Americans, and to stand in solidarity against racism, xenophobia, and misogyny. Six of the victims who were killed on Tuesday were Asian-American women.
A list of the participating community organizations is still being compiled and will be released in an updated media advisory on Sunday.
