Senate candidate Amy McGrath is touring universities across the state today, flying herself and her staff from one to the other. This afternoon, she will be at Murray State University and Western Kentucky University.
One of the main goals of the visits is to encourage students to register to vote. Many college students are eligible to vote in their college town, depending on where their registration is located. There is still time to register to vote in the upcoming election.
In a press release from the campaign, McGrath said, “Our college students are seeing firsthand how our state and nation are changing right before their eyes from COVID, with classes online, universities making budget cuts, post-graduation opportunities drying up, and college debt growing. Leaders like Mitch McConnell have no vision, especially for their future. There has never been a more important time for the voices of our young people to be heard than in the upcoming election, and I’m working hard to get to every corner of Kentucky and talk to as many students as I can about their need to participate and make change.”
