The web site Kentucky for Kentucky has unveiled a new state seal appropriate for our current coronavirus reality.
The site says its mission is to “engage and inform the world by promoting Kentucky people, places, and products. And to kick ass for the Commonwealth!” The site combines information and news about Kentucky with an extensive online store of Kentucky-specific products.
Over the weekend, they shared a new state symbol on their Twitter account (@KYforKY). After getting some comments, they shared more about how it came to be.
Jason and Brooke Ison sent us the idea earlier today on Facebook and @SinclairArt did the design work. Oh and @tizbitz came up with the Commonhealth of Kentucky.
Update – After we posted this story, we heard from Andrew at Kentucky for Kentucky with an update:
We had a lot of people write in about it, so we ended up making a t-shirt with the net proceeds going to the Corona Virus Response Fund set up by the Bluegrass Community Foundation, United Way, and the City of Lexington.
