Do you remember the Jim Glenn election saga? How he initially won by one vote, then had to fight a battle to get seated? How there was drama as they recounted all the ballots, and decided which ones to throw out? And how there was talk of flipping a coin?
Well, guess what – it turns out that deciding elections through chance is not that unusual … and there’s a new documentary film to prove it.
Entitled Win, Lose, or Draw Straws, it is the story of various election across the country, including Glenn’s, that came down to a tie and were decided by some means other than the final vote count. Jim Glenn and his lawyer, Anna Whites, are in it, along with other candidates and pundits from all over.
And, you can watch it ONLINE for FREE at its WORLD PREMIERE starting Friday, May 29. To do that you have to sign up with the Brooklyn Film Festival by creating an account. Once you do, you can watch all 40 films in the film festival, from fiction to documentaries, from shorts to feature films, beginning Friday night at 6 PM.
