If we needed any more evidence that the Republican party is completely owned by Donald Trump and has become the Trumplican party, we got it from two of our Kentucky reps in Congress.
After Trump admitted to asking a foreign leader for help in taking down a political opponent – and possibly holding back military aid if the help wasn’t forthcoming – House speaker Nancy Pelosi and the House Democrats finally did the only thing they could do: they started impeachment proceedings against this president.
Never mind that they had enough evidence to impeach him months ago. Never mind that he is obviously a threat to our national security, as well as to our democracy. This latest outrage alone should have been enough to cause even the most rock-ribbed Republican to stop and say, “You know, I took an oath to defend the Constitution, and it is time that I honor that oath by helping to get this enemy of our constitutional system out of office.”
But instead, both Hal Rogers and Andy Barr decided this would be a good time to show where their true allegiance lies – not to the Constitution, not to the country, not even to their party – but to Trump, always and above all.

The American people are sick and tired of Washington Democrats careening from one baseless impeachment theory to another. It’s time Democrats stop their obstructionist and politically motivated witchhunt and start focusing on the work of the American people.

So there you have it: time to stop putting (R) after their names and start putting (T) instead. Their misplaced loyalty will be their legacy.
