Hank Linderman taking on Guthrie, on the road and on the screen

Hank Linderman is running for Congress in Kentucky’s 2nd District, taking on Brett Guthrie. Unlike some campaigns with huge budgets and large staffs, Hank’s campaign is a down-to-earth, grassroots campaign – just like Hank.

But don’t be fooled – Hank is much more than meets the eye. For one thing, he is a lifelong professional musician, singer/songwriter, and recording engineer, having worked with America, Keb Mo, The Eagles, Don Henley, Chicago, and many others.

He is also passionate about rural America and the unique problems that part of our state faces. As part of that passion, he helped create the Contract for Rural and Working America, a policy document that covers

  • Restoring health care in rural America
  • Education and childcare
  • Support for small, subsistence, and family farms
  • Rebuilding America’s infrastructure and domestic supply chain
  • A living wage
  • Support for workers in declining communities
  • Renewable rural energy: water, wind, and solar
  • Rural broadband
  • Abuse prevention, rehabilitation, and support
  • Legalization of cannabis
  • Secretary of Rural Affairs

Photographer Nick Lacy recently caught up with Hank at a GOTV rally put on by the McGrath campaign in Brooks, Kentucky. A few days later, Nick visited Hank in his home to watch Hank do some online campaigning and to check out Hank’s home studio.
