As of today, there are 99 days until the November election, and Four Rivers Indivisible is marking this milestone with a Unity Week of Action. Most of the 83 members in this Indivisible chapter live in the far western region of Kentucky.

The group has two major campaign actions planned during this week:

  • A billboard designed by a group targeting Mitch McConnell will go up in Paducah on Lone Oak Road near the Augusta Rd intersection on July 27. A second billboard will go up on Clark’s River Road in September. The billboard action is supported by Indivisible Project, which is a 501(c)(4) that supports the legislative advocacy carried out by Indivisibles across the country.

  • Member Leslie McColgin will put up “Burma Shave” style signs on her rural property in Graves County, also targeting Mitch McConnell. Other members are also planning these in places like Hickman County closer to the election. (Read more about the signs here.)

In addition to these promotional actions, the Four Rivers group will be joining Indivisible groups across the nation in a week of phone-banking and “text-banking.” National Indivisible has set a goal of reaching out to 20 million voters this cycle, and the Week of Action is the first step.

The group plans other actions over the next 99 days, including rolling out some videos outlining the harm McConnell has done to Kentuckians. These videos will feature interviews with actual Kentuckians, telling their stories.
