Kentucky for Strong Families, a non-profit PAC, has filed an ethics complaint against newly-elected state representative Josh Bray, who will take office in January.

Josh Bray

The complaint alleges that Bray has a conflict of interest because he is also the city administrator for Mount Vernon. That city sells water to Kentucky American Water, an arrangement that Bray oversees as part of his city administrator duties. The president of Kentucky American also chairs a PAC that made donations to Bray’s campaign for state rep.

The ethics complaint may be moot, however, because Bray has said he intends to resign his city administrator job once he takes office in Frankfort.

Bray will represent House 71, which covers Rockcastle and Garrard Counties, as well as part of Madison County. Bray had no comment, as he had not see the complaint yet.

Kentucky for Strong Families is a PAC that supports candidates based on their values, and works to increase attention to such issues as domestic violence.
