The Michigan attorney general has brought charges against two men, Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, for attempting to intimidate voters and discourage them from voting by mail. A robocall went out to thousands of mostly black voters in Detroit, telling the voters that if they voted by mail, their personal information would be given to:
- Credit card companies, so the companies could come after them for past debts
- The police, so police could come after them for outstanding warrants
- The CDC, so their names would be added to a list for a mandatory vaccine
Of course, none of this is true. But this didn’t stop the same robocall tactic from also being use in Illinois and Pennsylvania.
