This Tuesday, August 24, a coalition of allies led by Kentuckians for the Commonwealth and the Postal Workers Union are descending on Inez, Kentucky for a car caravan to Mike Duncan’s house and bank.
(Can’t make it to Inez? Read on for alternative actions!)
Inez’s own Mike Duncan is the chairman of the Board of Governors of the US Postal Service. If he can be persuaded to do so, he can take steps to rein in Postmaster General DeJoy, to force the re-installment of the sorting machines, and even to ask for DeJoy’s resignation.
Mike Duncan needs to hear from his fellow Kentuckians! So these groups are putting together a car caravan to drive past Mike Duncan’s home, then into Inez and past the bank Duncan owns. Turn around in the Post Office parking lot and go back the way you came – and perhaps do this loop a number of times!
To participate: Meet at 11 AM ET in the parking lot of the Martin County Public Pool on Route 40 in Inez, KY. It’s across the road from the Inez Freewill Baptist Church. We’ll get organized and make signs for our car windows. We’ll provide markers, poster board, car paint and more. You can also bring your own signs or materials from home.
The car caravan starts at noon.
To keep everyone safe, healthy, and socially distanced, we encourage you to not carpool, and only ride with people in your household or “bubble.” Please bring a mask to wear when outside of your vehicle.
You can let them know you’re coming on the Facebook event page.
If you can’t make it to Inez on Tuesday
If you can’t join us in Inez, you can find, join, or host an action at your local post office as part of a day of action sponsored by the American Postal Workers Union.
Call Sen. McConnell’s office at 502-582-6304. Tell him to provide $25 billion in immediate support for the Postal Service, and stop the mail slowdown efforts of Postmaster General DeJoy.
Call Sen. Rand Paul’s office in Bowling Green at 270-782-8303. Tell him to protect and fully fund our US Postal Service.
