Here is a map we made of the margins of victory in each county for the 2020 Democratic Senate primary. It shows the percentage difference between the two candidates, not the percentage of the vote totals. So, if one candidate got 60% of the vote and the other got 40%, the margin difference would be 20%.
Obviously, a win by 100 votes in a county with 300 voters would be a large percentage margin, and would be obliterated by a win by 10,000 votes in another county. (Which is why Booker almost won – his margins in the two most populous counties.) Still, it’s interesting to see where each candidate was strongest. Enjoy!
