The Charles Booker campaign bus tour stopped in Lebanon and Danville on Sunday, and Nick Lacy was at both stops to capture them in photos. From Nick:
“Après moi, le déluge” was a bit apt Sunday as Charles Booker bought his momentum-fueled primary campaign into the neighborhood. Stops in Lebanon and Danville had very different atmospheres because … the atmosphere. Just as Booker walked off the bus in Lebanon to a Father’s Day morning crowd of 50+ (half hour late because … MSNBC panel), the clouds opened up and, well, we all got drenched. Booker cut the speech down to “Hi. Vote. Bye.” (I exaggerate. He spoke for about five minutes & it was one of the most unique campaign stops i’ve ever photographed.) On to Danville where conveniently the rain did its thing before Booker arrived. So the close to 200 folks got a full blown campaign speech. And the opportunity to have a photo taken Elizabeth-Warren-style afterward.
