The Booker and Owensby campaigns shared new endorsements they have received: Booker from the Association of Flight Attendants, and Owensby from Seth Hall.

Booker endorsed by AFA

In a press release, the Association of Flight Attendants endorsed Rep. Charles Booker for the Democratic nomination to take on Mitch McConnell this fall.

In the release, AFA President Sara Nelson shared the following statement:

“In Kentucky, Charles Booker is providing the kind of leadership we need for our entire country. His record on fighting for working people and labor rights is strong and deep.

“Mitch McConnell has put Flight Attendants and other working people in jeopardy. McConnell stood in the way of ending the 35 day government shutdown, refused to move to a vote legislation that had overwhelming bipartisan support to save pensions people in Kentucky count on, and during this national crisis he is putting removal of corporate liability for unsafe working conditions above any real help for people doing essential work during a pandemic or standing in the unemployment lines.

“In this moment, we need leaders who understand that our democracy requires working people to have power to ensure the value we create is shared with us equitably and with fairness for all communities. Charles Booker is a fighter for Kentuckians and the Flight Attendants in Kentucky need his leadership more than ever. But for the sake of our county’s future, all of us need Charles Booker in the U.S. Senate.

“That is why our union is not only proud to endorse Charles Booker, we will be working day and night to make sure he is elected.”

Owensby endorsed by Hall

Seth Hall, who founded Foster Health Care Group LLC and ran for Kentucky’s 4th District Congressional seat in 2018, has endorsed Dr. Alexandra Owensby for the Democratic nomination to face Congressman Thomas Massie in the fall.

Hall’s statement accompanying the endorsement:

“I have a passion for what this country stands for, freedom and liberty. We reach for the highest ideals of humankind. However, a dark stain has been allowed to spread through our government at all levels, creating a cancer that is undermining those values of freedom and liberty. Thomas Massie is one of the cancers spreading the myth that says, ‘I have mine, so I do not care about you.’ This is just not who America is!

“Dr. Alexandra Owensby has the fortitude to change that mindset and to truly represent the 4th Congressional District of Kentucky and help create a more perfect union. I ran for the same office in 2018 for the same reasons as Dr. Owensby. We do not want to divide America; it is time to unite America. We need to heal the wounds of racial conflict, create a science driven economy, and restore the health of this planet and its citizens.

“I have spoken to her several times about her platform on Healthcare and Education, both of which are dear to my heart and to many in her district and state. We can do better; if we can fund perpetual wars and give trillion dollar tax cuts to the 1%, then we can fund world-class healthcare and our education system in the United States.

“I am throwing my full support behind Dr. Owensby and endorsing her as the 4th District Congressional Nominee as the former Democratic nominee from 2018 for the same position. Let’s get Alexandra elected so we can remove the lazy and cancerous Thomas Massie from office.”
