Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg has announced his campaign staff and office plans for Kentucky.
Bloomberg, who served as New York City’s mayor from 2002 to 2013, tapped Democratic strategist Jason Perkey to serve as the state senior adviser. Perkey, a Kentucky native, worked on former President Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign and former Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear’s 2011 re-election campaign.
The former New York mayor already had a tie to Kentucky before this announcement, as Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer is a co-chair for the presidential campaign.
Other members of the team include Matthew Daley, Nick Pemberton and Mattie Herald, who all helped in Gov. Andy Beshear’s successful election campaign, according to a press release. Lillie Ruschell, who served as former Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes’ communications director, will hold the same role on Bloomberg’s Kentucky team. The team is rounded out by Taylor Dale Clark, who also worked for Grimes, and Seth Johnson, a captain for the Georgetown Fire Department and former campaign manager.
