The Beshear campaign issued a press release on Monday noting that Democratic challenger Andy Beshear had out-raised incumbent Governor Matt Bevin in the final fund-raising report before the election. The 15-days-out report shows Beshear raising $750,000 compared to $442,000 raised by Bevin.

The campaign also stated that Beshear had out-raised Bevin in all three fund-raising reports for the general election, an unusual occurrence for a challenger facing an incumbent.

Campaign director Eric Hyers released this statement: “This is unprecedented. Thank you to everyone who has dug deep and pitched into this campaign. These fundraising numbers reflect the energy and enthusiasm we are seeing every day across the commonwealth, including from the thousands of volunteers who have now knocked on more than 800,0000 doors. That a sitting governor was out-raised for a third straight reporting period goes a long way to explaining his bizarre and unhinged debate performance.”
