Where in the world were Matt Bevin’s planes last week?

The Bevin administration continues to refuse to reveal the purpose of some flights in state-owned aircraft, saying that if the flight was not for state business, they don’t have to share the purpose or the persons on the flight. So, we’ve been pulling publicly-available flight data just to get it out there, and to perhaps see if citizen sleuths can add to the record.

In some ways, it’s a silly exercise; after all, it would be a simple thing for the Bevin administration to simply say “this flight was for a fund-raiser, and was reimbursed by the Bevin campaign.” Or, “this flight was to transport a prisoner in response to an extradition request.” Or, “this flight was to take the Bevin family to their home in New England.”

The truth is, it’s not a big deal until you refuse to say why the plane was used – then people begin to wonder what you’re hiding.

So, here are the records for the past week. The state has two planes that we’re tracking; the N24 plane is the one the Gov usually uses, so it’s listed first. But, the other made some interesting trips this week as well. (Albuquerque? Wheeling? Teterboro?)
