The first of five debates in this year’s governor’s race will be held today at a sold-out forum sponsored by the Paducah Chamber of Commerce.

The forum will be held at the Julian Carroll Convention Center from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM (Central), and features incumbent Governor Matt Bevin (R) and challenger Attorney General Andy Beshear (D). The moderator will be Todd Faulkner of WPSD, and questions will be asked by a panel of local reporters.

The event is sold out, with over 500 tickets purchased. However, it will be broadcast live on WKYX (94.3 FM), and will be streamed on the Facebook page of WPSD.

Audience members will be asked to be silent during the debate, so that as many questions as possible can be asked by the media panel.

The other four televised debates are as follows:

  • 10/15 – Lexington – League of Women Voters of Lexington
  • 10/26 – Louisville – League of Women Voters of Louisville
  • 10/28 – Lexington – KET
  • 10/29 – Highland Heights – Northern Kentucky University
